The majority of inventories we handle from higher-ed are items on a regular replacement schedule, particularly residence hall furnishings. Including mattresses, which are much needed among our charitable partners for disaster relief, refugee situations, community-building, and orphan care. We also place thousands of classroom and science lab furnishings each year, along with administrative furniture, kitchens and cafeterias (much needed by our non-profit partners), gym/athletic equipment, and much more.

Projects: IRN and Higher-Ed
We needed a cleanout that was complete, professional, and quick. We had to be conscious of budget. And we needed it to happen over the Christmas holidays. It wasn’t an easy challenge, but IRN made it work.”
Thomas ButchkoIn 2013 IRN found a home for 2,820 pieces of furniture from three Illinois residence halls. That was the first of a series of projects that continue today. Through the beginning of 2018, Illinois has provided nearly 5,500 pieces of usable furniture to nonprofits – more than half a million pounds, filling 33 tractor trailers.
Mark Lennon“It’s not furniture one day and trash the next. We knew there had to be a better way.”
